The event ‘Create Windows Phone Applications’ was successfully held at the TechMaster IT Training Center in Hanoi with the support of Nokia Vietnam.

In this 1 full day event, MVP Quang Nguyen Bawas one of the main organizers where he led a team to develop Windows Phone 7 applications. This event saw many developers and students registering, however, only 12 participants were accepted after a stringent selection.

As quoted by Quang, “Through this event, we hope to motivate developers and students to develop Windows Phone 7 applications using Microsoft platforms.”

As part of Malaysia’s Ministry of Defense Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) week and in collaboration with Microsoft Malaysia, Exchange Server MVP Poo Ching Loongwas invited to deliver a session on Windows and Mobile security to the 150 civilians and armed forces in Malaysia. In his presentation, Ching Loong talked about how to protect your desktop & mobile, which include data, personal information and e-mail.

From the attendees point of view, the key takeaway from this presentation was that it provides them with a better overview of how Microsoft sees security, how secure it is to use Microsoft products and how to be secure both at work and at home!

Organized by Himpunan Mahasiswa Manajemen Informatika/Management Information Technology Students Association (HIMMI) BSI Cikarang, The Amazing Microsoft Access Seminar was held with the theme ‘The Use of Microsoft Access to Manage the Database Server’. May 3rd & 7th, 2012. Organized by Microsoft Philippines for Natcco Federation of cooperatives in the Philippines, Windows Expert IT Pro Isamu Shinozaki was invited to speak at a series of roadshows titled Iloilo Natcco Technology Forum held across 4 cities in Philippines.

Isamu spoke at the 2 of the 4 roadshows at Iloilo City and Tacloban City, where he shared his knowledge and discussed the value of upgrading to Windows 7 Professional through a feature by feature overview. There were a total of 55 attendees who came for both of the roadshows.

May 22nd, 2012. Organized by Dell and sponsored by Intel and Windows Server 2008 R2, the Do More with Efficient IT’ seminar – Dell Product Launch 2012 was held at the Battaramulla, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

This seminar saw 6 technical sessions delivered by industry experts and among them, Sri Lanka Virtual Machine MVP Kuruwitage Susanta Silva was one of the invited speakers who shared on the following:

  • System Center 2012 and Microsoft vision on Private Cloud
  • Windows 2012 HYPER-V features and their advantages

 

The seminar was well-received by 200 attendees.

May 28th, 2012. Indonesia Directory Services MVP Bobby Iskandar Zulkarnain wrote and published a free ebook titled “Mengenal Windows Server 2012 Jilid 1” (Get to know Windows Server 2012 – Vol 1) for the local Windows Server System (WSS) and Microsoft User Group Indonesia (MUGI) communities.

This book is written in Bahasa Indonesia and consists of 147 pages, divided into 5 chapters, where Bobby covered the basic concepts of Windows Server 2012. The 5 chapters are:

1. Introduction
2. The installation of Active Directory Domain Services
3. Exploration of the Active Directory Administrative Center
4. The Server Manager and Windows PowerShell
5. The management of the network infrastructure with Windows Server 2012

4 Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs) were invited as speakers for this event, where they shared their knowledge and excitement on Visual Studio 11 Beta and the new Metro style UI.
