Singapore MVP Impresses Future Employers with Microsoft Office

May 9th, 2012. Organized by Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Microsoft Singapore Public Sector Team and as part of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) program and curriculum where students learn about IT in the workplace, Singapore Office System MVP Tian-An Tan was invited to delivered a session on ‘Final Report Preparation Tips with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint’.

This event was well attended by 400 strong audience consisting of a mix of Year 1 and 2 students from various faculties. This is an event where external speakers are regularly invited to the school to share the industry perspectives on how IT is used in their work.

Tian-An shared valuable experiences on Microsoft Office with the audience and showed them how important simple applications like Word and PowerPoint can be, in making a professional impact on their customers and employers.

As quoted by Tian-An: “I was warmly received and the audience gave applause and laughed at jokes over the 30 minute session. I guess the impact was not in my agenda of using Microsoft Word features but how to impress your future employers with advanced Microsoft Office skills through physical demonstrations such as resumes, reports and advanced formatting of these items. I also touched on cloud storage mediums and how to get their information public such as Windows Live which are the new ways of collaboration.”

Thank you Tian-An for showing the way how the students can acquire important skills from learning Microsoft Office and Cloud Storage!

Cheers,
SEA MVP Team
