Windows Phone 7 Workshop – The Excitement Continues in SLIIT

Sri Lanka XNA/Direct X MVP Uditha Bandara continues his Windows Phone 7 Workshop for University students in Malabe, Sri Lanka. Uditha’s Windows Phone 7 Workshop adventure began in May and started with the University of Moratuwa, Colombo and Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT). On June 3rd, he conducted a full day Windows Phone 7 Workshop for 250 students from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT).

For the first half of the session, he provided an overview of Windows Phone 7 App and Game Development whilst for the second half, he conducted 2 Hands-on-Lab which include teaching the students how to get started with the Windows Phone developer tools and how to build your own mobile game title. As shared by Uditha, ‘The students were very interested in the Windows Phone 7 Platform and were excited about creating apps/games for the marketplace.”

Feedback from the students were also very positive. Quipped Student Buddhila Ashen Pitigale on Facebook, “OMG! Today is the day. Windows Phone App Development Camp in SLIIT. All students Rock. That was awesome – breakfast lunch and finally refreshment. Not only that, T-shirts , New Lumia 800…WOW…cool man! Develop an XNA Game. It Rocks dude….I’ m crazy man..”
