The SQL Saturday #180 training event in Kathmandu Nepal held on Dec 15,  had 9 technical sessions, 7 speakers, was catered for SQL Server professionals and those wanting to learn about SQL Server. In partnership with Professional Association for SQL Server (SQLPass), Verisk Information Technologies and Confio Software,  this free training event covered a a good mix of high quality sessions, with topics and skill levels from Beginners to Intermediate, Technical to Non-Technical.

Sri Lanka SQL Server MVP Gogula Aryalingam was honoured to be present at the event and delivered 2 presentations:

BI For (Almost) Everyone – Level: Beginner

    Integration 101 – Level: Beginner

“I did not know that I was the only speaker who was presenting in person, everyone else were MVPs from around the world presenting online through Skype. Hence, the organizers and the attendees were very thankful and appreciated very much me being there in person. It is difficult to explain the gratitude that they had unless one was there in person to witness the way in which they continuously were thanking me. It was a great opportunity for me as well as for a technical community that hardly receives support of this nature.

Both my sessions were well received, they were extremely happy, and gave me very good verbal feedback. The most common feedback was that my presence being there was more interactive and lively as opposed to the slides and voice of the remote sessions. They also said that they have learnt new things with regard to BI, since BI knowledge/experience was a scarcity.” quipped MVP Gogula.

“Sometimes, it’s the physical and face to face contact that is worth a thousand words.” said SE Asia Community Program Manager, Lilian Quek thanking Gogula for his time and effort to be the event speaker.

An audience of more than 120 people present at the event.
